LEAGUE RULES LEAGUE MEETINGS: Each team must have a representative attend league meetings. Any team missing 2 league meetings before the start of the season will be assessed a $100 fine. If you miss one meeting there is no fine.
FIGHTS: 1st Fight: 3 games + $75.00 fine 2nd Fight: 5 games + $100.00 fine 3rd Fight: Season + $150.00 fine Aggressor/Instigator in a fight gets an additional 2 game suspension and a $50.00 fine.
TEAM FIGHTS: Each team involved in a fight will receive a $100.00 team fine.
MISCONDUCTS: Any misconducts received in the last 5 minutes of a game will result in a 1 game suspension + a $35.00 fine. Any coaches receiving misconducts will also receive a $35.00 fine.
GROSS MISCONDUCTS: 2 games + $75.00 fine.
MATCH PENALTIES: 5 games + $100.00 fine.
DOUBLE MATCH PENALTIES: 8 games + $150.00 fine.
HIGH-STICKING MAJOR: Automatic game ejection + $35.00 fine.
TEAM FINES: Teams will be fined for the following accumulatives penalties during the season: 4 Fights - $100 3 Matches - $100 3 Gross - $100
FINES: All fines must be paid prior to the team's next game or the team(s) will not be permitted to play.
GAME SHEETS: Each team must have a person who is responsible for properly filling out the game sheet. The game sheet must be given to the score keeper prior to the game. Game sheets must be supplied by the Home team.
TIME LIMIT: Each game has a 90 minute time limit. There will be a 5 minute warm-up and 2-20 minute stop time periods, unless there is a 7 goal game differential, in the 2nd period, then running time. If either team is late for a game, the scorekeeper must put up 20 minutes and run the clock. If more than 10 minutes have passed upon the late team's arrival, the game will start from where the clock was stopped. If more than 10 minutes late, that team will lose by default.
DEFAULTING GAMES: Any team(s) that do not show up for a scheduled game will receive a $300.00 fine and a loss of chance of two points for that game. If notice is given in writing, there will be no fine, but there will be no rescheduling of that game. If and team(s) would like to change any game(s), they must submit a request in writing to the League 2 weeks prior to the game. The League has the right to refuse any game changes unless it is due to emergency.
APPEALS: All appeals must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of the incident in question, along with $100.00 cash or cheque (NON-REFUNDABLE, EVEN IF APPEAL LOST). There will be no 1 game suspension appeals.
JERSEYS AND PANTS: A and B division must wear all pants or all shorts and must match including socks when wearing shorts and C division teams must wear all pants or all shorts but do not need to match.
COLOR CONFLICTS: The League will supply jerseys when a color conflict arises. Home teams will be responsible for changing and counting jerseys - a $25.00 charge for using jerseys will result. If they are returned unwashed, an additional fee of $10.00 will result. Team Managers or Captains are responsible for paying fees and returning jerseys. If any jerseys are lost, the team must replace the jersey or pay a $50.00 fine.
SUSPENDED PLAYERS: No suspended player(s) may appear on their team's bench during game(s). Also, any teams that have suspended players(s) appearing on a game sheet will be charged a $75.00 team fine plus a loss of 2 points.
SCOREKEEPERS: League will supply scorekeepers. In some cases scorekeepers cannot make it or do not show up. In this case, the Home team must supply a scorekeeper whom the League will pay $15.00. Home team s are responsible foe keeping the white copy of the game sheet and must hand it in to the league. The League will not provide scorekeepers to ant team(s) that threaten or verbally abuse them. Those teams who find themselves in this situation must supply their own expense. Failure to supply a scorekeeper will result in a $25.00 fine.
ARENA DAMAGE: Any player(s) found damaging the arena will be suspended for a minimum of 15 games. The player(s) will also pay the cost of repairing the damage as well as a $200.00 fine which must be paid before the team's next game. If any arenas are damaged without finding the individual(s) responsible, all teams that played there when it occurred will share equally in the cost of the repairs. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
ALCOHOL and DRUGS: No drinking alcohol or using drugs in dressing rooms or parking lots at any arenas. If any complaints are lodged against any team(s) regarding this matter, the team will be suspended 1 game each offense plus a $200.00 team fine will result.
MONEY OWED: If any teams fold or drop out, any money owed to the League must be paid by the player(s) before they can play for another team. This includes any outstanding fine(s), be it personal or their portion of any team fine(s).
CHANGING TEAMS (7-DAY RULE): Any player(s) that change teams must wait 7 days before they can play for their new team. There will be NO team changes after the team's roster has been handed into the League. If a player plays on Saturday, he is eligible to play for another team on the following Saturday (ie. 7 days). The same goes if a player plays on Monday he is eligible to play for another team on the following Monday.
ILLEGAL PLAYERS If a team is caught using an illegal player, the team will be fined $300.00 and deemed ineligible for the current year's Provincials. The player will also receive a minimum 10 game suspension. Team management is responsible for ensuring its players are aware of the eligibilty rules.
TEAMS ARE AUTOMATICALLY MOVED UP A DIVISION Starting in Spring 2008, both the 1st place team in B Division during the regular season and the playoff champion are required to move up to A division. A team may stay in B Division as long as no more than 5 players remain on its roster. In C1, the top 4 teams during the regular season (or top 2 in each division if there are 2 divisions) and the playoff champion must move up to B Division. A team may remain in C1 Division as long as no more than 5 players remain on its roster. In C2, the top 2 teams during the regular season and the playoff champions must move up to C1 Division. A team may stay in C2 Division as long as no more than 5 players remain on its roster.
THE LEAGUE PRESIDENT RESERVES THE RIGHT: The President of the League has the right to refuse any team(s) entry into the League or to suspend any team(s)/player(s) from the League for violation of league rules. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IN EITHER CASE.
No Coaches, Managers, or Players will be allowed in the Timekeepers bench area before or after the game. If you do so, you will receive a 1 game suspension. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTION AND NO APPEAL.
Any Coach, Manager, or Player who refuses to accept his copy of the game sheet from the League Official at the conclusion of the game will receive a 1 game suspension.
All 'A' and 'B' teams must wear matching pants and shirts. Pants must be either all long or all shorts. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. Any player who does not abide by this rule will receive a 2 minute minor penalty, and must leave the floor. He will not be allowed to play in the game.
All 'C' teams must wear matching shirts, including the Goalkeeper. The only exception to this rule will be when there is a color conflict.
PLAYOFF TIE BREAKING RULES: Playoff seetings will be determined by the following procedures: Most points Most wins Head to Head between teams tied Shoot-out wins Plus/minus (Head to Head) between all teams tied Plus/minus (Overall) Least penalty minutes |
